Terms

Last updated 2026-05-19

These are the simple terms under which I take on client work. Written for humans, not lawyers. If anything's unclear, ask me before signing a proposal.

  1. 01

    How engagements start

Every project begins with a free conversation. Then I write a scoped proposal that defines what I'll build, when I'll deliver it, what it costs, and how payment is structured.

Nothing starts until you sign that proposal. I don't begin work without one and you're never billed for the discovery conversation.

  2. 02

    Payment

Default is 50% upon signature of the proposal, 50% on delivery. Larger engagements may be split into more milestones — the proposal sets the exact schedule.

Invoices are issued from a Hungarian sole proprietorship and include applicable VAT. EU and US clients receive properly formatted invoices for their local accounting.

If an invoice goes 30 days unpaid, work pauses. If 60 days, the engagement is considered cancelled and partial payment for completed work is due immediately.

  3. 03

    Intellectual property

Once you've paid in full, all the custom code, configurations, and documentation I built for you are yours — to use, modify, and even open-source if you want.

I retain the right to mention the engagement publicly (in case studies, talks, social posts) only with your written permission. If you'd rather stay anonymous, I respect that.

I may reuse generic patterns, helper functions, and architectural ideas in future projects — nothing client-specific.

  4. 04

    Confidentiality

Anything you tell me about your business, your data, your customers, or your processes stays between us. I'll sign a formal NDA on request before we get into details.

I will not share, sell, or use your data for any purpose other than delivering the engagement.

  5. 05

    What I promise

I'll deliver what's scoped in the proposal, to the agreed quality bar, on the agreed timeline. If something is going to slip, I tell you as soon as I know.

AI systems can produce unexpected outputs — language models hallucinate, automations encounter edge cases. We'll talk through known risks during scoping and define how the system handles them.

  6. 06

    Liability

My total liability for any engagement is capped at the amount you've paid for it. This isn't unusual — it's standard for service work and protects both of us from runaway risk.

If something goes catastrophically wrong because of my work, I'll do my best to fix it. If we can't agree on a fix, the cap above applies.

  7. 07

    Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. Any disputes that can't be resolved between us go to the Hungarian courts of Budapest.

If you're an EU client, your local consumer-protection laws still apply where they grant you more protection than these terms.

  8. 08

    Changes

I may update these terms. Active engagements continue under the version of the terms that was in effect when their proposal was signed.
